About this tool

The SureFast SF1402 tension and cutting tool for 13-19mm plastic strapping is a must have for anyone who is involved in securing materials for both shipping and storage.

When using the SF1402 manual tool you can both tension and cut the strap in just a few simple movements. The single handle of the tensioner can adjust and pull the strap, and when it is then secured with buckles or seals, you can cut the strap to release the tool from the system.

Can the SureFast SF1402 tool be used on vertical surfaces?

Yes, it can be seen as an advantage when a strapping tool is able to be used on vertical surfaces. This is down to the fact that some strapping tools can only be used on flat packed items, which can be an issue when you are dealing with taller pallets. To solve this problem, the SureFast SF1402 can be used on both vertical and horizontal surfaces.

What types of strapping will this tool work with?

SureFast Corded Polyester Plastic Strapping

SureFast Composite Polyester Plastic Strapping

SureFast Woven Polyester Plastic Strapping

SureFast Polypropylene Plastic Strapping

Securing the items with buckles:

There are two types of buckle, galvanized (shiny) and phosphated (dull). The type of buckle you use is chosen depending on the type of strap used.

The instructions are simple:

To begin, the strap is fed through the buckle and then tensioned by hand. The SureFast SF1402 tool is then used for further strap tensioning. Once the optimal system tension has been reached, the SF1402 handle is then pushed down to cut the strap.

Securing the items with seals:

This is another popular way of securing items on the pallets. Securing seals can be used with either strapping tensioners like the SF1402 Tool or combination tools. Both types of tools have their own advantages, however, it is important to note that if the strapping tensioners are used, then a sealer is required.

When the seals and the compatible strapping is chosen:

A strapping tensioner would bring the strapping to tension, following this a seal would then be placed on the strap and a sealer would be used to crimp it into place. To then finish the strapping process, the handle of the tool is pushed down to cut the strap and release the tool from the application.
