About the SF1206 Giant Tool…
This SureFast SF1206 Giant Banding tool weighs just 4.3kg and can clamp and band a range of widths of stainless steel from 19mm up to 32mm. (3/4” to 1 ¼”)
It can apply an incredible 3300lbs of force and is ideal for heavy-duty applications such as securing stainless steel band around concrete pumps, hose clamping, transformer clamping, EGR clamping and railway sleeper banding applications. Being such a strong tool, the SF1206 has a built-in cutter and has a spring-loaded grip lever which improves the ease of use. This tool has a black epoxy powder coated finish which resists corrosion and has a spinning handle for ease of tightening.
This tool can also be used for heavier insulation products, as they are regularly used on industrial oil and gas plants to hold metal securely around pipework or tanks
Do you require gloves to work with Stainless Steel Banding?
Even though Stainless Steel Banding is edge dressed, meaning it does not have sharp edges, it is still recommended to wear gloves when working with any application, as 1” and 1 ¼” Stainless Steel band requires more force to wrap around the application, which may increase the chances of cuts.
The Simple 6-Step Application Process
1 – Clamp the band into the tool
2 – Turn the handle to form tension around the application
3 – Once the correct tension is reached, roll the nose of the tool over the buckle, at the same time relieving a slight amount of tension by turning the handle backwards
4 – Pull on the cutting handle to cut the band
5 – Hammer down the tail between the buckle ears
6 – Then hammer down the ears of the buckle to secure the tail
