Inconel & Monel

Inconel & Monel

Overview

Inconel and Monel are both Alloy metals, specified for marine, offshore and subsea fastening applications. Both metals are used, but not limited to, the oil and gas industry due to their high resistance to corrosion and their high strength and breaking strains. Both metals can adapt very well to hot and cold temperatures, making them perfect for offshore and marine applications.

Inconel 625 is a nickel based, non-magnetic, alloy that is well known for its high toughness and strength, as well as its excellent resistance to corrosion and oxidation, particularly pitting and crevice corrosion. Inconel 625 metal banding and buckles are ideal for use in furnace hardware, special seawater applications, oil and gas pipelines, cables and umbilical strapping, to name a few.

Monel 400 is a nickel-copper alloy metal which, again, has good corrosion resistance, good weldability and high strength. Monel 400 metal is easily welded by gas tungsten and metal arc, and is hardened by cold working. It works from sub-zero to high temperatures of up to 537°C, and has a low corrosion rate in sea water. Monel 400 banding and buckles have a range of thicknesses to suit your application, the higher the width, the higher the breaking strain on the band.

Reid Brothers UK offer high quality Inconel and Monel banding and buckles. We have a variety of different lengths and thicknesses of banding and buckles to suit your application. Our SureFast range is manufactured to the highest specification while still being able to deliver affordable pricing.
